Blackburn’s Statement on Infrastructure Legislation

August 10, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after voting against the infrastructure bill.

"Tennesseans are all for legislation focused on roads and bridges, but the Democrat spending spree is far from that," said Senator Blackburn. "Joe Biden has allowed his party to mortgage our children's future by forcing through a bill that will add at least 256 billion dollars to the deficit. The infrastructure bill is not paid for and will take even more money out of Tennesseans' hard-earned paychecks."

Senator Blackburn introduced over thirty different amendments in an attempt to improve this legislation that include:

• Defunding Biden’s Amtrak to Support Border Wall Construction

• Expanding Broadband For Tennesseans

• Restarting The Keystone Pipeline

• Protecting Federal Workers From Chinese Spies
