“Senator Hagerty and I are pausing today to pay tribute to the 13 servicemembers who lost their lives, defending individuals that they have never met. And certainly Staff Sergeant Ryan Knauss, we remember him, and we are grateful for him and his service. He is an American hero,” said Senator Blackburn.
“Staff Sergeant Ryan Knauss was a true patriot. He was a son. He was a husband. And he was a great Tennessean that embodies the Volunteer spirit. Our heart goes out to him and his family. We will never forget the legacy that he's left of service and bravery as he stood to help others and put his own life on the line,” said Senator Hagerty.
