December 8, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) led the effort to repeal the Biden administration’s COVID vaccine mandate for servicemembers in the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.

On Blackburn Ending Biden’s COVID Mandate In The NDAA:

Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) said, “Hoosiers are thankful for [Marsha Blackburn]’s leadership to get this done.”

Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) said, “Honored to be a part of the effort to ensure our servicemembers are protected from [Joe Biden]’s damaging COVID vaccine mandate.”

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said
, “Thank you, Senator [Marsha Blackburn] for your partnership and hard work on the Armed Services Committee to ensure our members of the TN National Guard are protected from this overreaching federal mandate.”

Clay Travis, Host of Clay and Buck, said, “Great job… It’s a huge win for our service members to end the covid shot mandate. Hopefully many schools and businesses will follow their lead and also end covid shot mandates all over the country. They’re completely and totally nonsensical.”

Kelly Laco, Fox News, said, “Sen. [Marsha Blackburn] and other GOP lawmakers [GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy] [Congressman Greg Steube] are calling for additional steps to protect unvaxxed members of the military who were terminated now that Congress is poised to roll back the Biden admin's military COVID vax mandate.”

Aishah Hasnie, Fox News, said, “NEW: [Marsha Blackburn] + colleagues secure provision in NDAA to protect service-members from COVID vax mandate. It will "protect troops from being fired due to Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate without fair appeal," reads statement.”

Julie Tsirkin, NBC News, said, “Statement from GOP Senators behind military vaccine mandate repeal effort, led by [Marsha Blackburn]: ‘We are pleased that the final conferenced bill includes language mirroring our amendments’ efforts to protect troops from being fired due to Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate…’”

Lou Dobbs said
, “Thanks to Senator Blackburn for her early call to remove Covid [vaccine] mandates for our military. With thanks Senator!”

Indiana Congressman Jim Banks said, “Hoosiers are thankful for [Marsha Blackburn]’s leadership to get this done.”

Tennessee State Representative Johnny Garrett said, “Our troops deserve to know that we’ve got their backs. Thanks to [Marsha Blackburn]’s efforts, now Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate is one step closer to finally being repealed.”

Tennessee State Representative Greg Vital said, “Thank you [Marsha Blackburn] for standing up for our brave troops. Tennessee is thankful for your continued fight for our country and state.”

Knoxville Mayor Glenn Jacobs said, “[Marsha Blackburn], thank you for fighting for the freedoms of those who protect ours.”

Andrea Bottner, Independent Women’s Forum, said, “Thanks to the leadership of Senator Blackburn and others such language is now in the 2023 NDAA which protects and prohibits service members from being unduly fired for refusing the COVID vaccine. This is a necessary righting of one of the many wrongs that occurred under the false pretense of public safety over the last couple of years.”

Mike Davis, The Article III Project, said, “Amen. Cheers to [Marsha Blackburn]. There is no real justification for firing young and healthy military service members over COVID shots they don’t want, they don’t need, and won’t even stop the spread of COVID. China is the biggest winner of President Biden’s boneheaded order.”
