Blackburn Meets With Community Leaders In Shelby County

May 9, 2022

MEMPHIS, TENN. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) visited Shelby County on Friday to meet with Mayor Jim Strickland, city officials, and business leaders. The visit was a part of her annual 95 county tour across Tennessee.

“It was good to be in Memphis on Friday to meet with local leaders about the issues affecting the community. Inflation was the top concern as many families struggle to pay the bills, buy groceries, and fill up their cars. At the same time, business owners can barely afford to keep their companies afloat.

“Supporting our veterans in Shelby County also remains a top priority. I had a productive meeting with the VA Memphis Healthcare System to discuss the importance of ensuring veterans have access to quality care and easing the case backlog,” said Senator Blackburn.
