U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn issued the following statement after meeting with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei.
“The United States and Taiwan are bonded by common goals of democracy, freedom, and shared economic interest. Communist China’s goals are anything but. My meeting with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen demonstrates our commitment to Taipei and reaffirms America’s determination to help Taiwan and other partners in the Indo-Pacific Region thrive. During the meeting, we discussed Beijing’s goal of regional economic and security isolation and how allies play a crucial role in advocating for Taiwan.
