U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement ahead of the Senate vote on Jack Lew to be U.S. Ambassador to Israel: 

“Confirming Jack Lew as U.S. Ambassador to Israel would be a win for Iran. As Treasury Secretary under President Obama, Mr. Lew was responsible for administering sanctions as a part of the dangerous Iran nuclear deal that he boldly championed. Especially as Israel faces an egregious attack from Iran-backed Hamas, we need to send a U.S. representative to Israel who will support our shared interests and strengthen our relationship. That representative is not Jack Lew.” – Senator Blackburn
