Blackburn Introduces Resolution Calling For Action To End Human Trafficking

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) introduced a resolution recognizing World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and calling for international action to bring an end to modern day slavery around the world.
“There are an estimated 28 million human trafficking victims worldwide, with at least 3.3 million children experiencing forced labor. This World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, may we recommit to doing everything within our power to end this egregious practice once and for all,” said Senator Blackburn.
BACKGROUND:
This resolution:
- Recognizes the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, 2023;
- Notes the dedication of individuals, organizations, and governments to end modern slavery; and
- Calls for concerted, international action to bring an end to modern slavery around the world.
