July 18, 2023
NASHVILLE, TENN. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) introduced amendments to the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to help secure the southern border, end child exploitation, and improve veteran access to breast cancer screenings.
Securing The Border
Senator Blackburn’s End Child Trafficking Now proposal requires a DNA test to determine the relationship between illegal immigrants coming across the border and any accompanying children.
Senator Blackburn’s Make Migrant Protection Protocols Mandatory proposal requires illegal immigrants seeking asylum at the southern border or without proper documentation to return to Mexico to await their immigration proceedings.
Ending Child Exploitation
Senator Blackburn’s Revising Existing Procedures on Reporting via Technology (REPORT) proposal makes several updates to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline, which would help them account for changes in technology and the way reporting takes place.
Improving Access To Breast Cancer Screenings
Senator Blackburn’s fourth proposal authorizes $10 million for mobile mammography services for women veterans.
Senator Blackburn’s fifth proposal terminates DoD’s policies authorizing travel, transportation allowances and leave for abortion services, and instead authorizes funding for mobile mammograms.
