Blackburn Statement On State Department Pausing Additional UNRWA Funding
January 26, 2024
U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement on today’s announcement by the State Department that they have temporarily paused additional funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Since Hamas’ attack against Israel on October 7, Senator Blackburn has been extremely vocal about UNRWA’s history of being antisemitic and employing individuals affiliated with Hamas, and she introduced legislation to halt funding to the group.
