WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement following Instagram’s announcement of new child safety changes ahead of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s markup of the Kids Online Safety Act:

“If anyone needed further proof that Big Tech has no interest in actually protecting our children, the timing of Instagram’s announcement on the eve of a House markup of the Kids Online Safety Act is it. Just like clockwork, the Kids Online Safety Act moves forward and industry comes out with a new set of self-enforcing guidelines. We applaud Chairwoman McMorris-Rodgers for moving forward with the Kids Online Safety Act and thank her and her staff for their hard work on this legislation, along with Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.), Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and Erin Houchin (R-Ind.).” – Senator Blackburn
